Ok, so this shows that the script is functioning properly to this point. Next step is to try and run the server this way and once again capture the data. So, cd to the data directory and run
/bin/bash -x /opt/ibm/lotus/notes/latest/linux/startup server
Also, what shell are you running in? I run in bash and ksh, others in csh. I'm wondering if it could be something specific to your shell environment. So, one other thing to try would be just to run the server under a different shell. So, for example, cd to the data directory and run:
/bin/bash
/opt/ibm/lotus/bin/server
which will first put you into a bash shell (which we saw from previous debug worked fine for you) and then run the server from this new shell.
